About Mrs. Beckman
I have been fortunate enough to spend my entire teaching career at Heritage Elementary School in De Pere. I graduated from UW-Oshkosh in 2010 with a dual major in both elementary and special education. I started my career as a special education teacher for the first three years and I was also a 2nd grade teacher for five years. As the current Dean of Students I support both the students and staff at Heritage Elementary. I enjoy working with all students and getting to know them as individuals and make them feel welcome and important in our learning community. I hope to instill a love of learning in all students and make school a fun, interesting place for every child. I strive to showcase every child's unique gifts and teach students how they can use their strengths to help them in their educational career. I love meeting new families so make sure to reach out and say hello if you see me out and about in the building.
I married my husband, Adam, in August of 2016 and we welcomed our son one year later in August of 2017. Having a one year-old boy to chase after keeps me very busy but we love exploring new areas and going on adventures as a family. I was born and raised in Green Bay so I am an avid Packers fan and spend many weekends cheering on the Pack! When I am not at school I love to spend time outdoors but also don't mind a fun movie night during the weekend. I consider myself lucky to work in such an amazing school district with fantastic schools, students and families.
