Mrs. Sandy Hagenbach Physical Education
Mrs. Hagenbach has taught physical education in Illinois and Wisconsin for over 30 years and has taught in the De Pere School District since 1996. She earned her BS degree from UW La Crosse, her Masters degree in teacher development from Marian College and her Adapted Physical Education certification from U.W. Stevens Point. She received the Golden Apple Award from the Green Bay Partners in Education in 1997 for her innovative use of children’s literature in physical education. In 2009 she was awarded the Elementary Teaching Honor Award by the Wisconsin Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance and in 2010 was awarded the Kohl Education Fellowship award. Mrs. H. served on the DPI State Standards Team in 2010 and helped to write the Wisconsin Physical Education Learning Priorities. She is the author of the book Teaching Children Responsible Behavior A Complete Toolkit and a contributor to and reviewer for the web site PE Central. Mrs. H. enjoys swimming, dancing, golf, yoga, watching basketball, and spending time with her family.
