Jamie Fonder Third Grade Teacher
I am a third grade teacher at Heritage Elementary School with over twenty years of teaching experience. I graduated from St. Norbert College with degrees in both elementary education and music education. My husband and I have two sons ranging in age from middle school to college. I value all that I have learned from my students, as well as my own children, throughout the past years, and will continue to learn and grow as an educator as I apply the knowledge I have gained. It is important for me to recognize the individual needs of each child and to help support each child’s learning in a caring and nurturing environment. Building a respectful classroom culture in which students feel cared for, supported, and willing to take risks is one of my highest priorities. Encouraging children to develop creativity, problem-solving skills and questioning techniques will help prepare them for a successful future. Fostering the growth of essential literacy and mathematical skills with an emphasis on productive discussion techniques and writing effectively will help create ambitious and inspired learners. In my profession, each day is a new adventure! I am grateful for the opportunity to share this learning journey with your child.
